M/V Prabhu Puni – Deck Crane Slewing Bearing Replacement

DESCRIPTION:
The ship has got the damage of No.4 deck crane slewing bearing and owner had got new bearing from maker.

We removed the wires of deck crane and hired floating crane to lift the crane jib and secured the jib on supporting. Meanwhile, the crane housing (around 35 tons) was disconnected from total 68 connection bolts and lifted to wooden supporting on jetty by floating crane.

The worn out groove on the housing lower bearing touch surface was built up and ground well, then the new slewing bearing was put on position by floating crane and connected by new bolts.

The crane housing was refitted by floating crane, then the crane jib was also refitted on position and refitted all wires afterwards.

Carry out load testing for crane and found satisfactory.
